The type of coupons I am looking for are the ones that I could use at the supermarket.
Some sites that I have heard of are "Couponmom.com, Coupons.com. I was wondering if there were any others out there that someone knew of.

Do You Indulge In Retail Therapy? Here is how you can shop without going broke!

Whenever I feel really down, I would go shopping. Retail therapy
is one of my favourite ways to destress. The lure of the hunt.
For that something that catches your eye, priced unbelievably
low, or at such a huge discount. 70% discounts at stores often
turn normally lady like women into wild beasts. Everyone
grabbing for that last piece from a coveted designer must have,
priced at 70%, or even 90% the normal price.

It always works for me.. initially. As long as I can still make
ends meet after these binges. I just love the thrill of buying
things, and knowing that I got them at below the regular retail
prices.

Leave me alone in a mall for 10 minutes, even with 2 preschool
kids, I guarantee you. I’d be carrying bags of shopping, kids in
tow, when you get back.

There is the thrill of the hunt. Going to a sale, not knowing
what fantastic buy you might spot. Then you see it. That coveted
designer brand normally beyond your budget, suddenly priced low
enough for you to comfortably afford. You try it on. You love
the way it looks on you. You buy it. That sense of satisfaction
is indescribable. You move on to the next store. That high lasts
until you see your credit card bill.

Worse still, those outfits you buy may be worn once or not at
all, before you give them away.

It is something like going on an eating binge. You diet for ages
trying to lose weight. Then suddenly, you just throw caution to
the winds. You eat like a pig, gobbling down all the yummy,
calorie laden desserts, snacks and favourite foods you have
deprived yourself after so long.

Retail therapy, uncontrolled, can leave you broke. Especially
with easy access to credit cards, you can chalk up a major debt
if you are not careful.

Still, like calorie laden desserts, you can still indulge in
retail therapy and stay within your budget.

Like eating less or even skipping a meal after you binge at a
grand buffet, and eating less in the following days after it,
you can indulge in retail therapy, if you spend less in the days
after it.

There are things you have to buy anyway. Why not focus your
retail therapy on what you actually need.

Make a list of the things you actually need.

Do you need a brand new jacket for work, to create a better impression in
the board room? You could use your next retail therapy session
to hunt down that ideal jacket when you need that boost.

You could even have your retail therapy in your favourite
supermarket, buying the food you and your family actually need,
sourcing out the deals. Again, make a list of what you actually
need and stick to that list when you go shopping.

Or if you spot a gorgeous luxury item like a very expensive bag,
you might want to save up for months first before you actually
splurge on it. By the time you have saved enough money to buy
the bag, you might even have lost interest and could put the
money to better use.

The trick here is to spend only what you have. Credit cards give
you the illusion you have far more money to spend than you
actually have. Buy now pay later is a very dangerous way to
think. Many people have ended up bankrupt after that.

Yes, you could always use that card to pay for whatever you
want, and then pay the credit card bill in installments for the
next few months. Meanwhile, the credit card company gets to make
money off you in the interest charges which could be as high as
24% per annum (2% per month adds up to a lot in the long run).

Can’t pay the bill in full? Roll it over to the next month. Get
another card to pay off some the debt in the old card and more
spending power.

Before you know it, your debt is so high, you can’t imagine how
you could possibly clear away all that debt.

Personally, I am a webmaster with a sometimes uncontrollable
urge to splurge. I would usually buy something whenever I step
out of my home. Nowadays, I tell myself to hold off the
purchase. I can get a better deal on the web.

Retail therapy extends online too. Online stores can offer even
better deals than your usual retail store. The brick and motar
retails stores have to pay rent for all that shopping space.
Online stores have far less overheads and can afford to pass
their savings to us. Their customers.

Every now and then, online stores would have discounts of some
items, or short term promotions where you can save a substantial
amount of money off your order. Some stores even have coupons
which you enter into a box when you check out, for free shipping
or a certain percentage savings off your purchase. Take your
time to make use of these savings and get the most of your
online shopping experience. I love buying jewelry
online
for gifts and I always do it online.

The best part about online stores is that you can take your time
to shop, without some pesky sales person trying to pressurize
you into buying something you really don’t need. Ok, some store
have pesky live help pop up windows, but you can always close
those windows so you can shop in peace

10 Step-by-step Business Startup Guide: Step 10

STEP 10: Sales and Marketing

Read any autobiography or business success story, you’ll notice one common denominator for success - sales. You need to take whatever action possible to ensure that sales are consistently growing to allow you to gain profit.

Again, a word of caution; do not target everyone! In today’s competitive environment, consumers are becoming more demanding and many would seek out products/services that meet their specific need or want.

First and foremost, I need to identify (and do some in-depth research) my specific target market. Next, I would develop sales and marketing blueprint ( similar to the one shown in DAY 8 ) to attract the kind of customers I wanted and meantime, to retain existing customers.

No matter how I intend to plan and execute these strategies, I must understand the formula - executing these plans is like playing a game. What game…? Yes, you are correct - the number game. The higher the number of sales agents/staffs, or the higher is the amount of advertisement posted, or the higher the amount of distribution channels, or the more attempts I personally made to seal a deal, the bigger chances I have in winning. I know for sure, a prospect or a client may say “no” to my product/service today. But, it doesn’t mean a “no” forever! According to LIMRA (a research center for financial planners and financial advisors in America) findings, a potential buyer usually says “no” seven times before making the actual purchase!

Before we move on, let’s understand first the relationship between sales and marketing. Marketing is the process of bringing awareness to the product/service, while sales is the process of making the customer buy the product/service.

Therefore, I am going to analyze eight sales and marketing strategies to increase my probability of winning:

1. Myself

2. Network marketing

3. Affiliate marketing

4. Online sales

5. Marketing materials

6. Direct mail

7. Advertisement

8. Outsourcing

Myself

The first approach is the most affordable yet effective strategy. It is made up of all the possible resources that I already have to generate sales and create awareness. These are some ideas that I would usually work on:

* Preparing a list of 200 or 300 list of target prospects, call them up, present to them how the product/service could benefit them and seal the deal

* Getting referrals from existing customers and reward them once the deal is closed

* Designing, printing marketing materials (i.e. brochure, flyer, discount card) and distributing them at local businesses, schools, community centers, newsstands, cafes and fitness centers

* Writing an article and pitch it to local publications as well as posting it online to newsgroup/newsletter

* Giving out trial services or free product samples

* Talking about the business to everyone that I come to interact. To do this I must place my business passion before my ego. If not, I’ll have difficulty in opening his mouth

Networking Marketing

The sky is the limit when it comes to marketing and selling the benefits of the product/service. Networking is a great, super low in cost to connect with potential customers as well as strategic business associates and spread the news about the business.

The chamber of commerce, local business association or elite business club are great venues for networking. They can connect me to an ecosystem of members who are all looking for business opportunity in addition to getting the right sources of product/service. Often times these associations hold events, offer industry-specific education and message boards online, and provide an opportunity for members to list their businesses on their Website.

Affiliate Marketing

This is not a new jargon. It means engaging freelance agent to do the promotion and sales, online. It is a popular marketing approach where E-commerce Website owners engage existing customers, visitors or even organizations that are willing to promote and sell the product/service for a stipulated commission. The role of a freelance agent (known as affiliate), is to direct traffic to the Website and ultimately when a sale is made, commission is credited into the affiliate’s account.

Website owners usually recruit affiliates by simply advertising online (usually through Google Adwords; a per-per-click search engine advertisement), and placing interesting ads (with bombastic headlines) or sending out recruitment announcement to thousands of bulk emails (purchased from database provider). This is a powerful yet cost effective method of generating sales if owners are involved in Internet-based business.

Online Sales

Regardless of the kind of business these days, I always find a Website is essential. And depending upon the business niche and objectives, it can be a major part of the company’s sales and marketing initiatives. Designing a Website can be made fairly simple by working with a company that specializes in helping small businesses create their Website or get Website DIY software available online.

It’s vital to own a Website that is effective in content. It’s not what the contents say, but how the contents say it that makes all the difference online. Establishing credibility is the formula - attach as many testimonials as you could. Usually, I would give out my product/service to people that I already know, get them test it and immediately get their testimonials. I never wait till I launch the product/service in the market to get testimonial - too time consuming!

Customers expect the world and are suspicious of almost everything. The content (words) must be crisp and intelligent. What the Website says should grab visitors’ attention, pique their interest and motivate them to action - to click the “buy now” button.

Search engine optimization and search engine advertising are two ways to get the business marketing message out on the Internet, and there is a big difference between the two in terms of cost. Banner ads are another way to do online marketing, although the opinion on their effectiveness is very subjective. If owners lack Internet knowledge, it is highly recommended to employ a company or a freelance Website designer to get the job done.

Marketing Materials

This may sound a little basic but it is vital to have all the basic marketing tools. Printed materials like business cards, letterhead and brochures should be a staple in any business. It’s essential for business communication and networking. The key to developing good marketing materials without breaking the bank is to identify an affordable graphic designer and low-cost printer. I normally engage a freelance designer to get all of them done.

Direct Mail

For many fresh entrepreneurs, there is no better way to reach their target market, than mailing literature directly to homes. Based on effective market research, entrepreneurs can identify their core market, assign them certain codes and obtain mailing lists to directly send them literature on the company profile, discount, coupons or other information. To optimize any direct mail strategy, entrepreneurs should consider retaining a direct mailer or bulk mail house company.

Alternatively, entrepreneurs can collect the information themselves by:

* Getting customers sign a guest book

* Obtaining customer feedback

* Purchasing mailing lists from community newspapers, chambers or other associations

* Retaining a list broker to customize a list

Advertising is one of the fastest ways to create awareness of the company, product or service. However, it can be relatively expensive for many startup owners. Before anyone spend money on advertising, however, it’s crucial to understand what advertising can and cannot do for the business, and draw up a blueprint for moving ahead. Here are four main functions of advertising:

* Triggering the curiosity of the public and attract new customers

* Persuading existing customers to spend more or keep coming back

* Establishing credibility, elevate branding status and creating unique business identity

* Reinforcing customers and prospects on the benefits of the brand, product or service

Advertisement cannot do one thing for sure - guarantee sales. Hence, placing up an advertisement campaign doesn’t mean a surge in sales or revenue.

Assuming budget is not an issue, I would definitely invest in an effective advertisement campaign. Therefore, I would create an advertising plan that fit into my budget plan in advance before committing to it.

Outsourcing

One simple and straight forward method that I would not miss out is outsourcing the sales of my product/service to an outsider. It’s easy, get the yellow pages (online or offline), search for marketing agencies, call them up and propose a joint venture (JV) with them in selling my product/service for a commission in return. The JV works perfectly as I am in charge of promoting and marketing the product/service as well as providing after sales service, and the agencies are only responsible for selling them. Most marketing agencies just want to focus on selling.

I would discuss with these agencies to attain a win-win joint venture - a remuneration system that allows them profit from each sale, while I could earn a healthy margin from each sale made. When it comes to negotiating an agreement, the rule is, the higher the commission I offer, the more excited these agencies are in taking up the JV.

In the ten-step process, I spend most of my time in preparation. Preparation is more important than rushing to getting the business open. Thus, if you are already in the process of starting up your business, stop whatever you are doing and put on your thinking cap. Sort out all the preparations you need to do for your business to ensure an effective startup.

I hope the journal could be of helpful to you in many ways. I have also taken an extra effort to include a SAMPLE BUSINESS PLAN (in the following pages) on how to startup an E-commerce business for your further understanding.

Buy the Groceries That you Need by Creating a Grocery List

Decades ago, people would buy groceries at their local neighborhood store, and sometimes, your local grocer would know you by your first name. Currently, we live in a modern, fast pace society with demands from work, significant others, housework, and kids. This is why the internet is such a useful tool that tackles our daily task of food shopping. When shopping online and even in the grocery store, we still get carried away with purchasing either too much food or not enough food. Therefore, you should write a list of groceries, so you will purchase the proper amount of food.

First, you should look through your refrigerator and pantry to determine your current inventory of food. How many times have you when food shopping and thought you were out of peanut butter, milk, ketchup, or bread and purchased the item anyway? Then, you went home and realized you had plenty of it. It is a waste of money to purchase food items that you do not need. By looking through your kitchen and food storage areas and verify what you already have, you will make less of these mistakes. Then, you can create of list of food items that you need.

Another reason to create a list is you will spend less money because you wouldn’t buy unnecessary food supplies. Most of us have the habit of walking down the isle at a supermarket or browsing through the food items online and putting food into our cart that should not belong there. Then, we rationalize to ourselves by saying “That’s on sale,” or “It’s buy 2 get 1 free,” or “Wow! I get 80% more for the same price.” If you don’t need it, that particular item is a waste of money regardless of it being on sale, a great buy, or more product for the same amount of money. However, you will not make these mistakes if you keep your list as a guide.

Peapod grocery stores allow you to create a list online and even shop conveniently without leaving your house. You can create a new shopping list each time you login. In addition, you can pull up previous orders, so you will know what food items you have plenty of. Also, you can even save personalized grocery list from special occasion such as Christmas, Hanukah, Easter, Passover, and birthday celebrations. Your groceries will be delivered to your door and you will save money with Peapod coupons and Peapod coupon codes.

About Contact Lenses Coupons

When people want to know all about contact lenses, they will do quite a bit of research on the subject, and then they feel they are better prepared to discuss it with their eye professional. To know all about contact lenses, people must consider create a self-guide that will lead them through many areas of contact lens purchase and wear.

An eye care professional will be the only person that can tell you outright whether or not you can wear contact lenses. The eye testing for contact lenses is a bit more detailed than those tests that are done for framed lenses. Contact lens tests involve measurements of the entire eye area including the slope of your eyelid, position of eyelashes, and the moisture levels in each eye.

On top of the usual visual acuity measurements, eye professionals will determine where you have an astigmatism problem that would interfere with normal contact lens prescriptions. If there is an astigmatism problem, then some people may have only gas permeable lenses offered. If this is the case, some people find this very unacceptable and decide against wearing contact lenses entirely.

You know that you have some sort of vision problem when things start to get blurred and your eyes tire easily. These contact lenses have to be fitted properly because everybody’s eyes are different dimensions. If they have astigmatism, the surface of the cornea is shaped differently. This factor will keep most soft contact lenses from floating properly over the surface of the eye.

People must know what contact lenses are made of, in order for them to care for them properly. Some people have made the mistake of soaking their soft contacts in salt water, and are left with a rubbery stub of what used to be their contact lenses. Contact lenses are made up of almost 79 percent waters, and salt will dry them out terribly.

Soft contact lenses are very easy to wear, and people become accustomed to them faster than they do if they had to wear gas permeable lenses. Gas permeable lenses will resist buildup better, but they are more rigid and durable than soft contact lenses. For people that work in industrial environments, the gas permeable lenses are a better choice. They can keep a pair of soft contact lenses at home for casual wear around town.

Many people choose contact lenses that do not have to remove from eye every 30 days. These are continuous wear contact lenses, and while you can sleep in them and do most every other activity in them without having to remove them from the eyes, these contact lenses are designed for this purpose with materials that allow oxygen to reach your eyes. All soft contact lenses can not be worn for 30 days and some people try to do it anyway and end up damaging their vision and their eyeballs.

As long as you have a contact lens prescription in hand, you can purchase contact lenses from any source that will give you a good price. By law, contact lens replacement services have to have the actual prescription on file before they can begin to make you an extra pair or two of contact lenses.

Lay your Hands on a Free $1000 Techno Machine

I sometimes don’t like to admit it, but I am nostalgic. I like 80s music, old type computer games (Street Fighter, Defender..come on!) and classic techno making machines.

Why?

I think they forged through and made todays music what it is. Machines like the TB303, TR909, JD800 and the famous Moog- what an effect they have made on dance and techno music! The rise in popularity of techno, i.e, with the makers and in the audience, was down to the cool sounds and the general compatability (sound wise) between the machines were the key.

In some cases limited numbers were made and the increase in popularity only meant two things. 1) An increase in the same old songs, rehashed versions that sounded similar in everyway, and 2) The price went into overdrive. Machines like the TB303 were selling for silly money. This trend is still being seen today. You can buy one of these machines for between $600-$1000.

And why?

The old favourite answers are “because you can see the lights moving”, “Its just great twisting those dials”- and so on. This is where to me nostalgia stops, especially when you want to make techno. Sure they were great sounding machines, sure if you didn’t have their sounds in your music you were classed as old fashoined…but for $1000!

This isn’t ravings from a person who never had one at all. I have a Roland MC202. I love the little box of tricks. The little rubber keyboard is novel and the sliders are cool. However, once all the fiddling is out of the way. Once you have gone oooOOhhh…there isn’t really anything left. Thats the problem for me.

Once the coolness has worn off, you have to go through extra work to hook it up into your set-up. Do you sample the loops off the machine? Do you buy a synch box? Do you MIDIfy it (costing extra cash)? I don’t mean to be all doom and gloom, and if you do have one, keep it- they are cool to work with. But if you don’t…well, look at the other options.

There are two great alternatives out there in Internet land that can help us out.

1) Sample sites. Nowadays they house great sample loops, and single hit sounds from the various machines. Housed in sample packs, you will notice that the sounds sound similar to each other because the sampler has twisted the dial a little and then sampled the sound. Now you have loads of sounds altered slightly. These are pretty cool. The only problem is that you get the samplers idea of a good sample. Also you don’t get all the dials being twisted together- too restricted. However as a free source of nostalgic sounds they can’t be beat.

So we have identified one sound source (for free), however we have also noticed some problems- a lack of freedom, and because we are a creative bunch, we have to find another way.

2) VSTs. Wow, what a revolution to the music world. A fantastic resource that should help musicians who are looking to make music with little, or no cash. VSTs are either effects (like distortion) or they are some sort of music sounding device (like synths (called softsynths), drum machines etc). Some are stand alone programs, or some need a host program. The most well known softsynth has got to be Rebirth, the TB303 and TR909 emulator. It is really cool, emulating the machines really well, however, the best thing about this softsynth is that it is free. Now there are plenty of VSTs out there that are free, offering great synth sounds or great effects.

The possibility of sound creation using VSTs has now become infinite. The actual sound of the sounds has become endless, so now there should be unique sounding musics out there. Are there any disadvantages? Well not really. Some sound the same, and some of the pay for ones are expensive, they are cool, but too expensive.

So what you can do, is add VSTs together, add an effect plug-in over a synth VST. The cool thing is. Nostalgic sounds can be processed through these plug-ins to bring them more up-to-date, and to add a flavour of your desire.

So, going back to our original question do we need a $1000 techno machine. Well as every diplomat states, yes and no. If I had a TR909 I would keep it, sample it, and then add VST effects to give the sounds more spice, because they are good, no doubt, but music moves on and you have to follow. If I didn’t have a TR909 I wouldn’t be upset, I would search out the samples from the various sample sites, add again the VST effects and get the sound that I want…for free.

If you have a low budget (or no budget), there are now no obsicles to stop you recreating those sounds that make your music sound like it was made with a $1000+ set-up.

Don’t scroll down to see the price. You won’t find it. I am sharing this knowledge with you for free. Why would I do this? Because as you’re about to discover, the strategy I’m going to show you is dependent on an ever-growing community of participants who partner with each other to obtain win-win outcomes. The results are comparable to online dating services, the more participants there are, the better the results for everyone. I therefore encourage you to show this strategy to all your relevant friends and colleagues.

Before I show you in detail how I got WordTracker absolutely free, you need to understand the mechanics of what makes this clever purchasing strategy work.

The strategy is not exclusive to WordTracker. I have simply chosen WordTracker because it is the resource I talk about in my testimonial. The strategy can be used to get any product subsidized or free , and you can purchase from any of your favorite web sites (any of the ones you are normally happy to shop at). The amazing benefit is that you will now be subsidized a cash amount for your purchases. This subsidy may be so large that it may even surpass the cost of your purchase, making the product or service absolutely free. The fact that you can purchase from anywhere online is partially what makes the strategy successful.

There are 3 things you need to understand about the strategy.

Firstly, the online store merchants you are intending to purchase from do not miss out on their profits. You are not breaching any of their agreements, terms or conditions. In fact, from their perspective you’re a 100% normal customer with all the normal privileges. You will even receive a receipt that you may be able to contribute towards a tax deduction.

Secondly, there are no losers with this strategy. It is one hundred percent legal and does not involve pyramid schemes, purchasing matrix, or anything of that nature. No scams here. Everybody wins.

Thirdly, you are still receiving the product you want direct from the merchant of your choice. So you can expect the same product quality, customer service, and shipping that you are accustomed to. You’re simply getting what you had already decided to purchase at a massive discount.

“So what makes it work?”

The key ingredient is a process known as ‘Customer Reciprocation’. Customer Reciprocation is facilitated by a ‘Customer Acquisition Exchange’. It relies fundamentally on merchants using affiliate programs for customer acquisition.

“Are you confused? Don’t worry, I was too.”

In a nutshell, merchants with online stores pay people like you and me sales commission to find them customers. You can generally join the online merchant’s affiliate program for free, and immediately commence earning commission as an affiliate marketer. You earn by directing potential customers through a unique web link issued to you. This is your ‘referral URL’. The link identifies you to the merchant so they know that you are the referrer of the customer and must be paid commission.

So basically whenever you are intending to purchase something, there’s an affiliate marketer out there trying to catch your attention and direct you transparently to your chosen merchant through their referral URL. When you purchase something, the affiliate marketer can earn upwards of 50% in commission.

Customer reciprocation is defined as the process of two parties (affiliate marketers) partnering to become each other’s customer. “I’ll be your customer, if you’ll be mine”. When you want to purchase WordTracker like I did, why not purchase it through an affiliate marketer who is willing to purchase at one of your affiliated merchants?

“Do you see the obvious benefit?”

You will earn an instant commission when your partner purchases from your affiliated merchant. The commission may be more than the cost of WordTracker or it may be less. But it is beyond doubt an instant subsidy. Your merchants will love you for bringing them a customer, and you’ll have a legally acquired copy of WordTracker and extra money to use on anything you like.

“So where do you find affiliate marketers ready to shop at your merchant’s online store?”

Affiliate marketers are already seasoned Internet shoppers who’ve overcome the trust hurdle and embraced online purchasing. There are so many around that you need only do a search for anything in Google or MSN to find them fighting over the highest positions in the search results.

The trick is finding someone affiliated with the merchant you intended to shop with, who is intending to purchase from your merchant. (Customer Reciprocation).

This is where a Customer Acquisition Exchange comes into play. (See the references at the bottom of this article or search for “Customer Acquisition Exchange” in your favorite search engine.).

A Customer Acquisition Exchange allows you to manage your portfolio of referral URLs. I am a member of six different affiliate programs even though I only actively market one of them. Whenever you want to purchase something you simply submit your purchase intention (in the form of the merchants website address) to the Customer Acquisition Exchange.

In my case I wanted to purchase from http://www.WordTracker.com. The system immediately commenced searching for affiliate marketers of WordTracker who had a purchase intention for one of my merchants. This submission process literally took me less than one minute. I received an email containing my exchange partner’s referral URL and proceeded to click on it and was taken to http://www.WordTracker.com, where I purchased my copy.

When I returned to the customer acquisition exchange I noticed that my portfolio showed a sale at one of my affiliated merchants. “Fantastic”, I thought. My commission report from my affiliated merchant revealed that my exchange partner had indeed purchased something. In fact, the commission I earned from the sale totaled $24 more than what WordTracker cost me. Meaning I got WordTracker for free and received $24 for my one-minute effort.

So now that you too know this simple no-risk strategy, I hope that you will use it to your advantage and derive previously unheard of discounts. I trust that you can see the benefit of recommending Customer Reciprocation to your peers, because as the community grows there will be more participants partnering rather than viciously competing for new customers.
